European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said that the economic outlook for the euro zone is fraught with uncertainty. Such that includes stemming from supply bottlenecks, surging energy prices and new waves of the coronavirus pandemic. There was an event for the ECB.
Lagarde stated in that event about how long how those bottlenecks will take to be resolved. Because that is one of the biggest question marks. Then, she spoke of higher energy prices. Lagarde added that they will see how long it takes for that to fade away. And that it should go out in the first part of 2022. The last of the uncertainties is that they have to account for is the potential new waves of a pandemic. And that too would be vaccine-resistant.
