RegTEch to hire the Former HSBC COO to their advisory board

Napier is a fast growing company part of RegTech. This provides next gen anti-money laundering ( AML ) solutions. They recently announced the appointment of the former HSBC Group chief operations officers, Andy Maguire to their advisory board. HE has over 30 years of experience in the finance sector, he is recognized industry heavyweight to have a proven track record in developing and delivering sustainable transformation, growth strategies, efficiencies in operations and integrations for all the top global financial institutions.  As Group Chief Operations Officer at HSBC he was accountable for the Bank’s global cost base and led tasks across retail, private and profitable banking in UK, Europe, US, Canada, Latin America and Asia. During that time, he was in authority for the expansion of the group’s financial crime and operational risk capabilities as well as its highly successful digital transformation program. Andy is presently the Chair of Global Banking as well as a Managing Director and Senior Partner of the London office of The Boston Consulting Group. In his role as Board Adviser at Napier, Andy is set to use his vast industry acquaintance to provide vision and strategic course as the company lasts its rapid global expansion.

Julian Dixon, CEO of Napier, said that as a business they were growing very fast, so being able to tap into Andy’s experience will give them an immeasurable edge in taking this to the next level. He said that Andy is highly respected within the finance sector and will bring a number of qualities to their Advisory Board that will most certainly benefit them in moving forward and they believe that it really is a major coup.

Napier having their headquarters in London, work with the financial organizations all across the globe to provide an AI led platform for their intelligent AML and trade compliance. The company even doubled their annual revenue in the year 2020. They have been growing their register of global customers which recently got the title as the official anti- money laundering and counter terrorism financing technology platform for the Australia post.

On his appointment, Andy said that it was a very exciting time for the development of AI-led solutions in the fight against financial crime, and Napier were very much at the forefront of that digital arms race. When he was approached by the team about potentially joining the Advisory Board, he didn’t hesitate to accept the opportunity. He believes that it was the time to be nimble, and he was looking forward to being a part of the great work that Napier are doing to transform AML compliance.
