TAGUIG CITY – FinTech Alliance PH has formalized a strategic partnership with KasKasan Buddies, one of the Philippines’ largest digital financial literacy communities, to expand public awareness on digital finance, responsible money habits, and protection against online scams.
The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed during the FinTech Alliance PH 2026 General Membership Meeting held on March 11 at Marquis Events Place in Bonifacio Global City. The collaboration brings together the Alliance’s network of fintech companies and financial institutions with the KasKasan Buddies community of over 1.3 million Filipinos who actively discuss personal finance, digital payments, and financial tools online.
The collaboration is an offshoot of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Financial Education (FinEd) Congress, spearheaded by BSP Deputy Governor Berna Romulo-Puyat, which emphasized the need for stronger multi-sector collaboration to strengthen financial literacy and digital trust among Filipinos.
Through the partnership, FinTech Alliance PH and KasKasan Buddies will jointly develop initiatives aimed at educating Filipinos on digital financial services, promoting safe use of financial apps, and strengthening awareness against scams and cyber fraud.
FinTech Alliance PH Founding Chairman Lito Villanueva emphasized that empowering financial consumers is a critical pillar of a safe and inclusive digital finance ecosystem.
“Financial inclusion does not end with providing access to digital financial services. It also requires ensuring that Filipinos have the knowledge, confidence, and awareness to use these tools safely and responsibly,” Villanueva said. “By partnering with KasKasan Buddies, we are able to reach millions of everyday users and strengthen grassroots financial education at scale.”
Villanueva noted that the initiative also reflects global efforts to curb misinformation in financial markets, pointing to regulatory moves in countries such as China aimed at preventing the spread of false or misleading financial information online. Recent policies there prohibit uncertified online influencers or individuals lacking relevant credentials and expertise from discussing specialized or expert-domain topics such as finance, law, and medicine, underscoring the growing importance of credible, responsible information sources as more
consumers rely on digital platforms for financial decisions.
KasKasan Buddies founders Joel and Jax Reyes said the partnership aligns with their mission of helping Filipinos make better financial decisions and stay protected in an increasingly digital financial environment.
“Our community of 1.3 million KKBuddies are exactly the people that digital finance was built for. We are the everyday Filipinos who use these apps, swipe these cards, and send money through these platforms every single day,” the KasKasan Buddies team said in a statement published following the event.
The partnership will support public awareness campaigns, educational content, and community-driven discussions focused on responsible use of digital financial tools, scam prevention, and building stronger financial habits among Filipinos.
KasKasan Buddies noted that the partnership aims to help Filipinos “build safe, secure, and responsible money habits… and actually feel confident and protected every time they use” digital financial services.
FinTech Alliance PH, the country’s largest digital finance industry association, brings together more than 150 member institutions that collectively drive 95% of digital financial transactions in the Philippines, serving over 110 million accounts nationwide..
