BARCELONA, SPAIN – Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) showcased its enterprise data platform initiative at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain on March 2, 2026, with Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva presenting the bank’s data-led transformation roadmap.
MWC Barcelona is regarded as one of the largest and most influential annual gatherings in the global mobile and technology industry, drawing over 110,000 participants from 205 countries this year.
Addressing a global audience, Villanueva outlined RCBC’s AI framework anchored on five strategic pillars: trusted data governance, modernization of data and AI platforms, insights-driven monetization, advanced analytics and AI adoption, and democratized enterprise data access.
He said the strategy is designed to eliminate data silos, accelerate decision-making, strengthen regulatory compliance, and unlock new digital revenue streams. Central to this approach is RCBC’s Enterprise Data Platform, which supports real-time fraud detection, predictive risk modeling, hyper-personalized customer journeys, and AI-augmented workforce productivity.
He also highlighted that RCBC has embarked on Asia Pacific’s first Huawei Hybrid Cloud Data Platform in banking and the Philippines’ first Hybrid Cloud Enterprise Data Platform in financial services. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Huawei Enterprise, Keyrus, and Microgenesis Business Systems.
Villanueva noted that RCBC’s AI journey gained momentum following discussions at last year’s MWC, where the bank announced its ambition to build a unified enterprise data platform as foundation for scaled agentic AI.
“At RCBC, we are institutionalizing intelligence, embedding governance, and optimizing lifecycle value to future-proof banking through data.”
RCBC secured its sixth consecutive “Best Bank for Digital” recognition from Euromoney in 2025, becoming the first Asia-based bank to hold the title for six straight years. The bank continues to expand its digital platforms, including RCBC Pulz, DiskarTech, and ATM Go.
